Autumn on the High Plains

An expanded vineyard, slowly taking shape.

I planted this small pine forest, intended originally to be a source of renewable timber, about 1998. Growth was severely interrupted by drought for a number of years, but the trees have now taken off, many tipping 18m.  The trees provide a long wind break, and protection for many natives, and a stronghold for a family of foxes.
