Looking for Spring

"Ok, it is time to reveal the truth. Please, sit down. This will take time.
I am a time traveler. I come from the last half of the twentieth century, October 1975 to be precise. But the link between me and Mission Control is faulty and they keep losing track of me. I can’t get back. The future keeps changing..."

Be careful for what you wish. This is a story about 1975 and heart-lines, time travel and the fall of kings, but mainly about the elven-path.

Catalyst

I dreamed a long dream, so real. I dreamed I was somewhere else for decades and decades. Thrown around time like a fleck of foam in the surf.

The teacher looks at the small children, and smiles, “Who can tell me what today is?”
As one, their hands go into the air. She chooses the youngest, “Robert?”
The boy stands, and says, “It is the end of days.”
She says, “Thanks, Robert, you can sit down. Today is the day we remember the end of days. So we have come out here to the rock shelf to look at the sky and remember.”
She points to the sky, and they look up past the skydome, to the stars and the Earth hanging there above them.
She smiles again, “Today we tell the story of our lost home. When we remember our parents and give thanks to the station guardians."

Labrinth holds David. She misses the real wind and the real rain. The ones from the sky. She misses thunder and lightning. And she remembers those other days: the days of color and danger in the final days of Hanoi, the days of burning heat of the salt lakes in the central deserts, the days when she ran in the sand and surf. But, she had made a choice, her love is in the stars.
She drifted back to that night at the boathouse when the wind blew away the past.
She told herself, “For so long as someone still remembers, it will not die.”

The New Adventures of the Vampire Girl (I)

Graphic Novel with New York artist CR Bravo
The old adventures of the little Vampire Girl have now been left behind, back there in the hall closet of childhood with stuffed toys and scribbled Xmas cards full of typed love and tv series that went on too long. On the edges of the world, the little Vampire Girl now turns her head bravely to make a life in the capital of the world, to find new friends and to bravely go forth to find love where many before have found nought but socks to be darned and smelly shirts. But the world spins strange these days. It is full of landladies, wolf boys, gargoyle angels and tv executives.
Some murmur darkly that the spinning wheel has grown too fat for the young. Into the inter-spaces of our world, the dispossessed, the underemployed, the desperate have been falling out of sight for years. But they have not left the world. They are still here, quietly gathering in their hundreds of thousands. All shapes and sizes. Waiting. Listening. Hungry. Just a heart beat away from the trembling jelly rich.
Welcome to the new adventures of the little Vampire Girl.

The world is changing. The traditional guardians of the world are being displaced by smart phones and eBooks. In the final days of the great libraries, two very different librarians confront the future.

In Betty's library, some of the books are awakening
In the dark of night they stalk their prey
And, as they consume other books
The stories within twist and turn
And the world starts to change

Wild Waterfalls of South Eastern Australia

Available on Amazon

For many years Peter Quinton has been trekking to the 15,000 falls of South Eastern Australia. This large format full color book organizes many of the accessible falls into regions and gives you a foretaste of the beauty of these places.

Twilight of the Gods

Available on Amazon

Graphic Novel with New York artist CR Bravo.

c. CR Bravo 2017

The Gods were already old when talk started of retirement. Only Zeus hung grimly to his corner of the old palace atop Mount Olympus. The others tended to avoid the place because the walk up the mountain left them gasping for air. Instead, they had drifted off, joining the diaspora to new places with the rest of their countrymen and women.
Here is the real story of the final days of the old Gods as they try to find a foothold in the modern world.

The Dragons Eye Dyptych

Available on Amazon

A braided yarn about the great war between spider and dragon kin. You say - The dragon must be asleep by now. Go get the gold, I cannot wait any longer. I whisper - I am not sure. I think its eyes are still a little open.
I have been telling bits of the story here and on G+ for a little while now. The story has grown to a book of 300+ pages, including line drawings and maps of the places in the story.

Three Wishes (Novel)

Available on Amazon

A love story. Mary has been looking for love in the wrong places. This time she has found a Genie inside her computer. Things are not looking good for the Genie.

Beth

Available on Amazon

"I was born near the great meandering river.
The old Wiradjuri called it the Wambool. These days it is called the Macquarie River.
The river turns in great lazy circles on the plains. It floods some years and then slows to a trickle joining deep waterholes in others.
This is my story."
