Exposing himself with a stream of chatter, this Spinebill is attempting to draw the attention of an immature Grey Butcherbird. He need not have worried, the other bird was more interested in small lizards on the ground.

For a moment, an Eastern Spinebill crouches in the safety of an apple tree as a larger Pied Currawong flies past. A pair of Spinebills has come to the farm to drink grevillea and banksia flowers.
