Harold's Cross, 2014
This brown hawk was on a fence post in an old cattle yard, near Harold's Cross, a trail across the Great Dividing Range between Rossi and Braidwood. The bird is larger and heavier than a Nankeen Kestral - it turned in the direction it wanted to fly and used its legs to kick into the air. It flapped its wings slower than the Kestral, getting into a V shape and keeping low.
