Summer thunderstorms
Thunderstorms roll over the high plains on a summer's afternoon, this one tonight with hail and rain, igniting grass fires, disrupting electricity supplies and felling trees.
When they bring rain, like tonight, the thunderstorms cool the summer heat and put out any fires. Dry thunderstorms are not a dancing matter - instead the heat and humidity is tainted by the smell of eucalyptus burning.
